Armando Serrano Torres, 90, of Peppermill Ct. Naugatuck entered eternal rest on June 10, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the proud husband of Junna Diaz Serrano and recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Mr. Serrano Torres was born in Puerto Rico on June 17, 1922, son of the late Hermino Serrano and Joaquina Torres. He was a Machine Operator in a Bottle Company in Puerto Rico before coming to the US in 1982. He was a very social and family oriented man who enjoyed spending time with his devoted family. He especially enjoyed their camping trips. He was a communicant of St. Augustine Church in Seymour. In addition to his devoted wife, Junna Diaz Serrano, he is survived by his loving children Carmen Serrano (John Harnest) of Danbury; Pedro Serrano (Ivelisa Torres) of Seymour; Lourdes Serrano Gomez (Luis) of Seymour; Maria Serrano (Eugenio Otero) of TN; Wanda Gill (Humberto) of TN; Juan Serrano (Maria) with whom he resided in Naugatuck; Jaime Serrano of Naugatuck; Miguel Serrano (Carmen) of Bridgeport; Sonia Serrano (Angel Quiles) of Seymour; and Angel Serrano (Ana) of Bridgeport; 76 cherished grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Victor, Ignasio, and Brigida Serrano all of Puerto Rico. Funeral Services will be held on Friday June 14th at 10:30am at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home, 47 Washington Ave. Seymour for an 11am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Church, Seymour. Interment will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
