Carmine A. Ariano, Jr., 88, of Skokorat St. Seymour, entered eternal rest on March 1, 2017 at the West Haven VA Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Grace Mate Ariano. Carmine was born in Bridgeport on August 6, 1928, son of the late Carmine and Antoinette (Castaldo) Ariano, Sr. He was a proud Army veteran having served his country during the Korean War. Carmine was the owner and operator of Page Press Printers. He was deeply spiritual and a past communicant of St. Augustine Church. Carmine had many interests including horse racing, coin collecting, and gardening being especially proud of his tomatoes. He was an avid Yankees fan and animal lover, especially of his companions Lobo and Sadie. Above all else, his greatest passion was spending time with his loving and supportive family. He is survived by his devoted daughters Phyllis (Philip) Howley and Susan Ariano, all of Seymour; beloved grandchildren Mary (Ralph) Palmieri of Seymour, Brian (Sarah) Howley of MD, and Devin Howley of Seymour; and cherished great grandchildren Anthony, Maya, and Nicholas Palmieri, and Kallee, Sophia, Morgan, and Henry Howley. Funeral services will be held on Monday March 6, at 9:30 am at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home 47 Washington Ave. Seymour for a 10 am mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Church with Rev. Kevin Forsyth presiding. Burial with full military honors will follow at Mt. St. Peters Cemetery in Derby. Calling hours will be held on Sunday March 5th from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
