Debra A. Gauvin

Debra A. Gauvin, 59, of Grand St. Seymour, entered eternal rest on Sunday August 2, 2015 at Shady Knoll Health Center in Seymour. Debbie was born in Derby on April 13, 1956, daughter of Eileen Moran Gauvin and the late Francis Gauvin. She was a graduate of Seymour High School and Naugatuck Valley Community College where she completed her AS in Social Work. She served her internship at VARCA, and worked for many years as a bakery clerk at Stop & Shop. She was a communicant of St. Augustine Church. Debbie was a kind and quiet soul who loved animals, classic movies, art, writing poetry, and listening to music, especially John Denver. In addition to her father, Francis Gauvin, she was predeceased by her brother, James Gauvin; grandparents, Albert & Margaret Moran and Arthur & Anna Gauvin; aunt, Agnes Gauvin; and godmother, Margaret Kiley. Debbie is survived by her devoted mother, Eileen Gauvin of Seymour; beloved brother, Michael Gauvin and his wife Linda of New Hartford; cherished niece, Amanda Gauvin; several aunts and uncles including John & Beverly Moran, and Richard & Pat Kiley; many cousins and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home 47 Washington Ave Seymour on Wed, August 5, at 10:15 am for a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Church with Rev. Kevin Forsyth officiating. Friends and family are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 am. Burial will follow at the family plot in Mountain Meadows Cemetery. Debbie's family would like to express their appreciation to the Staffs of Shady Knoll Health Center, Masonicare, Bridgeport Hospital, and Vitas Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care.
