Earl R. Gladding, 96, of Wooster St. Seymour, entered eternal rest on Wed. June 29, 2016 in the comfort of his own home. He was the husband of the late Margaret Dulina Gladding. Earl was born in Seymour on July 13, 1919, son of the late William and Wilhelmina (Sauer) Gladding. He was employed by BF Goodrich for many years until his retirement. Earl was an avid fisherman who enjoyed both salt and fresh water fishing. He enjoyed vegetable gardening. Earl was a devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed. In addition to his beloved wife, Margaret, he was predeceased by his brother, William Gladding of Ansonia, and nephew, Charles "Sonny" Gladding of Seymour, who was his fishing buddy. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Marjorie Louise Wilson of Naugatuck and Christine Caplan and her husband Arthur of North Branford; beloved grandchildren, Lauren (Jim) Horvath of Naugatuck, Jennifer (Christopher) Yonika of Oxford, Deborah (Jay) Colberg of North Branford, Rachel (Adam) Johnston of Wallingford, and Jeffrey (Jessica) Caplan of Wilmington DE; cherished great grandchildren, Brandon Horvath, Zachary and Bailey Yonika, Olivia Rose Caplan, Marcus and Derek Johnston. He is also survived by his devoted niece Arlene Rannings and her husband James of Seymour, nephew Hubert Barnes and his wife Diana of Naugatuck, and dearest cousin, Doris Gladding Ardry of Naugatuck. Funeral Services will be held on Friday July 1 ^st at 10 am at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home 47 Washington Ave. Seymour. Interment in the family plot at Union Cemetery Seymour will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Earl's honor may be made to the Susan G.
