Edward J. Bukoski, 95, of Moss Ave. Seymour entered eternal life on Thursday Nov. 29, 2018 at the West Haven VAMC. He was the beloved husband of the late Philomena Oriente. Ed was born in Seymour on Oct. 15, 1923, son of the late George and Frances (Griger) Bukoski. He was proud to serve his country as a member of the US Marine Corps during WWII. He was employed as an electrician at the Chicago Conrad Hilton Hotel until his retirement in 1986. He was an active member of several veterans groups and held many positions including: Past Chaplain of the American Legion Post 10 of Seymour; Post Jr. Vice Commander, Post Commander, and Life Member of the VFW; and Past Commandant of the Marine Corp League. Ed was a communicant of St Augustine Church and past member of St. Peter & Paul Church of Waterbury. He loved sports especially baseball, basketball, and the UCONN Womens Huskies. He enjoyed traveling and vegetable gardening. In the sunset of his life he filled his days reading, watching TV, sports and especially the News. In addition to his beloved wife, he was predeceased by his son, Mark Edward Bukoski; siblings: William, Stephen, & John Bukoski, Andrew, Joseph and Steven Griger, George Barclay, Michael Baker; Frances Wallick, Margaret and Ann (Jackie) Bukoski, Rose Kozloski, and Mary Fogarty. He is survived by his sister, Madlyn Napychank of Ansonia, devoted niece, Pamela Marchetti & her husband Dennis of Seymour, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Tues. Dec. 4th at 10:15am at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home 47 Washington Ave. Seymour for a 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Church. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery 669 Platt Rd. Watertown. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 8:30am until Mass time.
