Edward Francis Saroka, 69, of Lakeview Ave. Seymour, entered eternal rest on January 4, 2015 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Jo-Ann (Torwich) Saroka and took great pride in their 48 years of marriage. Edward was born in Derby on May 13, 1945, son of the late John and Phyllis (Baclawski) Saroka. He was a proud Veteran of the US Army having earned the National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter designation. He was a communicant of St. Augustine Church. Edward was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed bird hunting and salt and fresh water fishing. He was a Life Member of both the Seymour Fish and Game Club and the Ansonia Nature Center. He was a devoted and attentive husband who will be greatly missed. In addition to his cherished wife, he is survived by his niece, Marshann Cherney, and her husband Robert, of Oxford. Edward was predeceased by his brother, John Saroka. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday Jan 8 at 9:45am at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home, 47 Washington Ave., for a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine Church. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at Mountain Meadows Cemetery in Seymour.
