Elizabeth M. Bloomingdale, 75, of Cortland Place Oxford, entered eternal rest on Sunday January 20 th at Griffin Hospital with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of William Bloomingdale for 55 years. Elizabeth was born in Derby on May 29, 1937, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth D'Agosta Breda and step daughter of Alexander Tretiak. Mrs. Bloomingdale was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Seymour. She was a Supervisor at the Rubber Shop in Naugatuck, Owner of the Busy Bee Sewing Store, and was employed by the Southbury Training School. Elizabeth was a Volunteer for the Abused Children's Organization and for many years assisted with the St. Augustine monthly shelter dinner for those less fortunate. The greatest joy in her life was caring for her family. She was a loving and kindhearted Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She will always be remembered for her Italian sauce Sunday dinners. In addition to her beloved husband, William, she is survived by her children: William and Victoria Bloomingdale of Beacon Falls, Eileen and Robert Wilkinson of Middlebury, Elaine and Paul Hardy of Oxford, Elizabeth and Robert Tallberg of East Hampton, Ellen and Mark Perkins of North Carolina, and Evelyn and Robert Sehl of East Hampton. She is also survived by her brother, William and Gloria Breda of Florida, 20 Grandchildren, and 15++ Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters: Rosemarie (Tom) Ajello, Annette (William) Bazzinotti and Joan Breda. Funeral services are private and have been entrusted to the care of the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home, 47 Washington Ave. Seymour. As per her wishes, interment will be privately held at St James Cemetery, Naugatuck, CT. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Good Intentions on Saturday January 26 th at 5pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd. Memorial contributions in honor of Elizabeth Bloomingdale, may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd 135 Mountain Rd. Seymour, CT. 06483.
