Estelle Marie (Zamoic) Cherhoniak Biondi, 89, of Oxford, entered eternal peace on March 13, 2015. She was the beloved wife of her first husband, Walter Cherhoniak, and her second husband of 46 years, James E. Biondi. Estelle was born in Seymour on November 25, 1925, daughter of the late Isadore and Mary (Colenda) Zamoic. Estelle enjoyed meeting and talking to people. She worked for many years in the office of the Oxford Oil Company talking with customers on the phone and greeting those that stopped by. Estelle was an active member of both Seymour and Oxford Senior Centers and enjoyed Bingo as well as many senior trips. She and her late husband James Biondi enjoyed vacationing in FL, CA, and RI, boating and fishing on Long Island Sound, and a memorable cross country trip by rail. In addition to her husbands, Walter Cherhoniak and James E. Biondi, she was predeceased by her sisters Edna Dailey, Jean Brooks, and Sophie Dunphy; brothers Edward and Joseph Zamoic; and son Ronald Biondi. She is survived by her devoted children: James F. Biondi and his wife Jean of Manhattan Beach CA, Carolyn Hannon of Orange, Thomas P. Biondi and his partner Dianna O'Connor of Oxford, Kenneth J. Biondi of Oxford, Linda Desmarais and her husband Paul of Lebanon CT; beloved grandchildren James Hannon, Jillian Desmarais, Ryan Desmarais, Brittany Osiecki, and Ryan O'Connor; cherished great granddaughter Carrington Hannon; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 21 at 10:30am at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home 47 Washington Ave. Seymour for a 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church Oxford. Interment will occur in the Spring. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30-10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Estelle's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Oxford Lions Club. Estelle's family would like to thank the staff of Paradigm Health Care of New Haven for the patience and care they showed Estelle, she certainly kept them on their toes.
