Florence Ruth Winters Fadden, 91, of Seymour, entered eternal rest on Feb. 5, 2016 at Waterbury Hospital after a long illness. Florence was the beloved wife of the late Michael H. Fadden, Sr. Florence was born in Seymour on July 13, 1924, daughter of the late Rudolf and Amelia (Konowski) Winters. She was a life-long resident of Seymour, a communicant of St. Augustine Church, and a past member of the League of the Sacred Heart. She was an assembler at Shelton Products for many years. Florence was proud of her German heritage and was a member of several German Clubs as well as the Arbeiter Manner Choir of West Haven. She was a caring and gentle woman who devoted herself to her family. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, singing, and travelling to Cape Cod, Iowa, and New Orleans. She loved seeing theatrical productions and concerts with her daughter, especially Neil Diamond, her favorite. She cheered loudest of anyone at her grandson Tom's swim meets. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sons, Michael H. Fadden, Jr. and Thomas James Fadden. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son in law, Patricia andWalter Rimkunas of Seymour; cherished grandsons, Thomas Viktor Rimkunas of Seymour, and Michael Anthony Fadden, and three cousins, Robin Condon of Farmington, Naomi Bonati of Clinton, and Eileen Sonnenberg of Brewster, MA, as well as several nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday Feb. 11 th at 10:30am (DIRECTLY) at St. Augustine Church, Seymour, with the Rev. Kevin Forsyth officiating. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be held on Wed. Feb. 10 th from 5 – 7 pm at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home 47 Washington Ave. Seymour. Memorial donations may be made to the Valley YMCA Sprinters Swim Team or the Alzheimers Association.
