James E. Connors

James E. Connors, 74, of Monroe, unexpectedly entered eternal life on Saturday March 4, 2023, at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport.  He was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Greene Bryan) Connors.  James was born in Shelton on November 4, 1948, beloved son of the late Franklyn and Katherine (Bergin) Connors. He was a proud Marine Corps Veteran, having served his country during the Vietnam War. After returning from his military service he briefly attended college.  He was employed by the State of CT Department of Motor Vehicles until his retirement.  He was proud of his Irish heritage and in his younger days enjoyed Irish beer and briefly worked as a bartender.  He was an avid reader with a preference for the political intrigue of his favorite author, John Grisham. Jim enjoyed watching TV and feeding the wild birds that visited their yard.  He will be remembered as being a kind, caring and sweet gentleman who was deeply devoted to his family especially his great grandchildren, Cheyenne and Ryan; and his canine companions, Nicky and Creek. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Francis (Red) Connors.  Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor Connors; stepsons, Gary Andrasko of Monroe and Glenn and Debbie Andrasko of Sandy Hook; sister, Kathleen MacConnie of Seymour; nieces and nephews, Timmy and Rosa Connors of Seymour; Dennis and Becky Connors of Torrington; Frank and Lauren Connors; Robert MacConnie, Jr. and his wife Amy of Shelton; Katherine and Russell Sanchez of Wolcott, NY; Gary MacConnie of New Haven; and James MacConnie of Seymour.  Funeral services, which are private and will be held at the convenience of the family, have been entrusted to the care of the Anthony V.
