James Lawrence Stepan

Derby- James Lawrence Stepan, 83, of Academy Hill Rd. Derby, entered eternal rest on Friday August 8 ^th at his home surrounded by his family. James was the devoted husband of Thelma Madill Stepan. James was born in Hamilton, Ontario on May 24, 1931, son of the late Joseph Stepan and Zita Weiler Stepan. He was an electrical engineer for ITT until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the Society of Professional Engineers and a communicant of St. Jude Church in Derby. James loved the outdoors and was an avid skier, gardener and camper. He and his family enjoyed camping in every state of the US and every province in Canada. He was the "Mr. Fix It" for his family, and was proud to be the "Nanny" for his grandchildren. In addition to his beloved wife, Thelma, he is survived by his devoted son, James Mace Stepan and his wife Christine of British Columbia; cherished daughters: Cindy Ann Climer and her husband Charles of Bridgewater MA, Zoe Elaine Stepan and her partner Michael O'Sullivan of Sydney, Australia, and Constance Regina Stepan and her husband Robert Pavlinsky of Oxford. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jason, Nathan and Alec Climer; Nicholas, Matthew, and Kimberly Pavlinsky; Russel, Luke, and Katrina Stepan; Maya and Mace Willard-Stepan; and beloved great-grandchildren, Ellie and Johnathan Pavlinsky. James was pre-deceased by his brother Joseph Stepan. Friends and family may call at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home 47 Washington Ave. Seymour on Monday August 11 ^th from 10am-12 noon. Funeral services will follow with Rev.
