Joan Barbara Bentley Zibluk, 90, of Bethany, peacefully entered eternal life on February 8, 2021 at CT Hospice in Branford following complications from carcinoma and Alzheimer's disease. She was the beloved wife of the late John Zibluk, Sr. Joan was born in New Haven on Jan. 10, 1931, daughter of the late Nathaniel Bentley and Catherine Ford Bentley. She was a New Haven City clerical worker, hostess at the former Tower One senior residences of New Haven, and a teaching assistant at the Beecher School in Woodbridge. She was a communicant of St. Augustine Church of St. Nicholas Parish. She was very religious and deeply devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary to whom she prayed daily. Joan enjoyed being a homemaker, having tea and cake, exploring tag sales with her late husband, line dancing, reading cultural magazines and local newspapers. Her greatest joys in life were from her devotion to her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, John, she was predeceased by her daughter June Zibluk of Bethany, brother, Joseph Bentley, and sister, Marjorie Bentley Zarbo. She is survived by her three devoted sons, John (Sara) Zibluk of Lookout Mountain, GA, Kevin (Patricia) Zibluk of San Antonio, TX, and Alan (Catherine) Zibluk of Bethany; two cherished grandchildren, John Cubeta Zibluk of San Antonio, TX, and Sara Catherine Zibluk of Brooklyn, NY.   She is also survived by her best friend from childhood, Alice Naclerio of New Haven, CT; her sister in law, Sophie Zibluk of Southbury, CT; and her extended family, friends and neighbors. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday Feb.16 at 10:30 am at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home 47 Washington Ave. Seymour for a 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St Augustine Church of St. Nicholas Parish with Rev. Thomas Cieslikowski officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Friends and family are invited to a walk through visitation on Monday from 4-6pm and Tuesday from 9-10:30am.
