John (Jack) E. Golebieski, Jr.

John (Jack) E. Golebieski, Jr., 57, of First Ave. Seymour, entered eternal life on Sat. Dec. 13, 2014 at Griffin Hospital in Derby.   Jack was born in Derby on October 26, 1957, son of the late John and Marguerite (Doohan) Golebieski, Sr. He was a bookkeeper for Curtis Screw before his retirement. Jack, along with his parents, ran the Cedar Ridge Market in Seymour for many years.   Jack was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Naugatuck where he was an active member of the Men's Club and the Choir. Jack was an avid fan of Naugatuck Youth Sports and had the privilege of serving as a Soccer Coach and Soccer & Basketball Referee. Jack had an engaging spirit and entertained his family and friends with his jokes and avid storytelling. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his devoted son, Kevin Golebieski and his wife Liz of Prospect; beloved daughter, Amy Golebieski of Lubbock TX; sister, Kathleen Golebieski of Seymour with whom he resided; brothers Michael Golebieski of Watertown, and Francis Golebieski and his wife Joan of Naugatuck. He is survived by his ex-wife, MaryLou (Porcu) Golebieski of Naugatuck. He will also be sadly missed by his niece and nephew, and their families, as well as his many cousins and close friends. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday Dec. 17 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home 47 Washington Ave. Seymour. Friends and family are invited to meet directly at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road Naugatuck, on Thursday at 10 am for a Mass of Christian Burial.
