John "Jack" Ralph Manzo, 70, of Meriden and formerly of Seymour, peacefully entered eternal life on Tuesday March 17, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. Jack was born in Derby on Nov. 18, 1950, beloved son of the late Patrick and Marie (Lynn) Manzo. He was an assembler at the Bassett Co. for many years. He was a past communicant of St. Augustine Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Jack was known to be an easy-going guy who loved life. He faced many challenges in his life and met each one with strength and courage. He was an honorable man of few words who developed close bonds with his housemates and the staff assisting them. Jack enjoyed dinning out and going to shows with his family. He was an avid reader with a special interest in historical books. He enjoyed traveling, especially his trips to Cape Cod. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters: Elizabeth Gage of Meriden, Patricia Scalone of FL, and Maria Hall of NJ; and his brother-in-law, Melvin Monde of CT. He is survived by his devoted sisters: Lynda Seigel and her husband Carl of FL, and Irene Monde of CT; and brothers-in-law Edward Scalone of FL, and Edward Hall of NJ. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and his dear friends at Dogwood Lane. Due to the COVID pandemic, all funeral services are private. Interment will be in the family plot at St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home, 47 Washington Ave. Seymour.
