Martha Rose Ross

Martha Rose Ross, 102, of Bellevue Terrace Seymour, entered eternal rest on Monday July 11, 2016, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late Gerald L. Ross. Martha was born in Orland, Maine on May 20, 1914. She was the daughter of the late Chester H. Rose and Agnes L. Bowden Rose. She was predeceased by her two sons Arthur F. Wilson and his wife Faye of CO and Gary Dennis LaRowe of FL, a brother Harold F. Rose and his wife Francis Ellen Rose, two sisters Anne Rose Bowden of ME, and Ina M. Rose Bridges, her husband Lester and her son Lester Jr. of CT, and nephews Harold, Dale, and Bruce Rose.
Though trained as a teacher Martha worked at Seymour Products in order to support the War effort. She stayed there until her retirement in 1983. Martha was a kind hearted woman who devoted her life to caring for family. She cared for her parents for many years. She was an avid reader. She also enjoyed crocheting, making dolls, playing the organ and writing poetry. In the past she was a Sunday School teacher for the Seymour Congregational Church. Martha always was more concerned for others than herself.
Martha is survived by a son Delmar Ross and his wife Catherine of FL, daughter in law Carole LaRowe. Two nieces, Blanca (Rachel) Rose, Diane Rose; nephew Brian Rose; grandchildren Arthur Wilson and his wife Dawn of FL, Edward Allan, Ronald Wilson, and Annamaria Famigalitti; grandniece, goddaughter and companion Ellen Butler of Seymour and her children Lawrence Dubey, Tamy Dubey Gilbert along with her husband Aaron and their sons A.J and Wyatt, Rachel Allen with her husband John and her children Hayley Jensen , Rachel Jensen and her son Justin, David Jensen, and his daughter Riah Rose. Her nephews Dwayne R. Rose, and Harold F. Rose (Fred) his wife Penny Ely Rose and their children Michael Rose and his son Payton, Samantha Ellen Rose Pascual her husband Arismaily and their children Luixandro, Alexander, and Analyzia. Also nephews Keith, Kevin, and Kurt Rose along with their sister Kelly Paolini. The family would like to thank special friends Johnny and Ruth Witzman.
Services will be held on Friday July 15, 2016 at 2 pm at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home, 47 Washington Ave. Seymour. Memorial contributions on behalf of Martha Ross can be made to Athena Hospice Care 112 Washington Ave. North Haven, CT 06473
