Nancy T. Deduk, Md

Nancy T. Deduk, MD, 91, of Seymour, peacefully entered eternal life on April 3, 2020 at the Linden at Woodbridge. She was the beloved wife of Valentine J. Deduk, MD. Dr. Nancy Deduk was born in Bristol, CT on January 23, 1929, daughter of the late John and Nellie (Fletcher) Turner. She was a graduate of Plainville High School and was honored to be the class salutatorian. She completed her undergraduate studies at UCONN where she met the love of her life, Valentine J. Deduk, MD, while they were pre-med students. They were blessed with a nearly 66 year marriage. She attended the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania, the second medical institution in the world established to train women for a career in Medicine. She completed her internship and residency at Waterbury Hospital. Together they opened their medical practices in Seymour. Nancy was proud to be the first female physician in the Valley. She was a General Practitioner with a specialty in Pediatrics. Nancy devoted herself to her patients and maintained her practice for over thirty years until her retirement in the late 1980's. She was a devout Christian and was deeply committed to Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She was a member of the Seymour United Methodist Church and the Living Springs Church of Seymour. Nancy had many interests especially swimming and gardening. She had a fondness for orchids and enjoyed caring for them in her greenhouse. Her greatest passion and joy in life was in the care of her cherished family.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Nellie Turner, and her sister, Charlotte Turner. She is survived by her beloved husband, Valentine J. Deduk, MD, of Seymour; devoted children, John V. Deduk of Garland, TX, Ann Marie Deduk and Eileen C. Warner, both of Seymour. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Nadine Crowder, Thomas H. Warner, III, Geoffrey Cohen, Carly Gallagher, Jonathan Deduk and Jessika Manion; and several great grandchildren.
Due to the current restrictions on social gatherings, all funeral services are private. A Memorial Service in celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The Anthony V.
