Phillip Andrew Norde

Phillip Norde, 95, of Jupiter Dr. Seymour, entered eternal rest on Feb. 16, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Hazel Major Norde and the late Mary Delgado Norde. Phillip was born in New York City on Jan. 4, 1922, son of the late Norbert and Clara (Lapelle) Norde. He was a proud Army veteran, having served his country during WWII. He was employed by the State of CT. He was a former communicant of St. Augustine Church. Phillip enjoyed football, deep sea fishing, music, and traveling including three cross country drives. His greatest joy was found in the blessings of his loving and devoted family and dear friends. Phillip was predeceased by his beloved first wife, Mary Delgado Norde and his stepson, Frank Gonsalves. He is survived by his devoted wife, Hazel Norde; sons, Stephen Norde of CA, and Michael Norde and his wife JoEllen of East Greenwich, RI; grandchildren, Michael Gonsalves and his partner Rosa Maurizio of North Haven, Maria and her husband Ben Davis of OR, and Melissa Montejo of WA. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, several nieces nephews and dear friends. Funeral Services will be held on Monday Feb. 20 ^th at 1pm at the Anthony V. Chepulis Funeral Home, 47 Washington Ave. Seymour, with the Rev. Kevin Forsyth, pastor of St. Augustine Church presiding. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11:00am until 1pm.
