Phyllis Howley

Phyllis Ariano Howley, 67, of Seymour, entered eternal life on December 25, 2024 at Griffin Hospital in Derby just two weeks after the passing of her beloved husband, Philip Howley.  They were blessed with a happy forty-five-year marriage. Phyllis was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Carmine and Grace (Mate) Ariano.  She was a graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport and moved to Seymour in 1989.  She was a long-term communicant of St. Nicholas Parish initially attending St. Augustine Church and in recent years, the Church of the Good Shepherd. Phyllis loved animals and had many canine and feline companions over the years.  More recently she enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels and watching their antics. She enjoyed playing Bingo, and reading, especially her favorite author, Danielle Steel. Most especially she loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.  She cherished her family and will always be remembered for her famous lasagna and cheesecake.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sisters in law, Kay Howley and Jane Howley.  She is survived by her devoted son, Brian Howley (Sarah) of Prospect; loving daughters, Mary Palmieri (Ralph), of Seymour, and Devin Dumschott (Tim) of Seymour. Phyllis is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Anthony Palmieri (Ali), Maya Palmieri, Nicholas Palmieri, Kallee Howley, Sophia Howley, Morgan Howley and Henry Howley; and devoted sister, Susan Ariano of Seymour. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Martin Howley of Texas, and Thomas Howley of Ansonia.

Friends are invited to join the family on Monday January 6, 2025, at 11:00am DIRECTLY at the Church of the Good Shepherd of St. Nicholas Parish 135 Mountain Road Seymour for a Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.  The Anthony V.
