Deduk.  Dr. Deduk was born in Derby on May 5, 1927, son of the late John and Irene (Parfenchik) Deduk.  He was a veteran of the US Navy having proudly served his country during World War II.  He completed his undergraduate studies at UCONN where he met the love of his life, Nancy T.  Deduk, MD, while they were pre-med students. They were blessed with nearly 66 years of marriage.  He was a graduate of New York Medical College and trained to become a prominent general surgeon. He completed his internship at Waterbury Hospital and surgical residency in New York City. Together with his wife, Dr. Nancy T. Deduk, they opened their medical practices in Seymour.  They both devoted themselves to the care of the community they served for many decades. Dr. Valentine Deduk was honored to be the Medical Director of Griffin Hospital for several years.  He was a past member of the Seymour United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in their Choir.  Dr. Deduk had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and was proud to be a founding member of the Seymour Land Conservation Trust, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving walking trails, streams, ponds, parks and outdoor recreation for all to enjoy.  He embraced an active lifestyle and enjoyed golfing, tennis, boating, fishing, scuba diving, snowmobiling and gardening.  He loved travelling especially to Hawaii and Martha's Vineyard.  Dr. Deduk will be greatly missed by all blessed to have known him. In addition to his beloved wife Nancy, he was predeceased by his parents, John and Irene Deduk. He is survived by his devoted children, John V. Deduk of Garland, TX, Ann Marie Deduk and Eileen C.
